Hospice of Santa Barbara offers many programs for children who experienced losing a loved one, but also terminal illness patients. Around 20 percent of children lose someone close before reaching adulthood, and one in 20 suffer the loss of one or both parents by the time they are 18. Kenny Slaught mentions that the organization provides free counseling so that those affected can cope with depression, anxiety of post traumatic stress disorder.
