The project supported by Kenny Slaught will preserve the building’s antique touch but also upgrade it. The seismic renovations will offer better protection to the building and the tens of thousands of paintings inside. The project will also increase the gallery space by 25 percent, resulting in the museum becoming a more central part of Santa Barbara. The restoration plan is the museum’s largest project up to date.
