The startups on the Central Coast gathered over $200 million from private funders in the past year. Now, it states twice the investment per capita in development compared to the bigger market in greater LA. Local business owners understand the effect of starting a company in a growing environment. This makes the area perfect to start a business in biotech, medicine, technology or science. A few of these include names like  Inogen, Raytheon, Sonos, and BioIQ.
